About The Project
Sunshine and Florida

The Lucky Penny brand is an internal developed as a collaborative project between my wife and I. We spend a few hours a week discussing designs and inspiration. The project has brought us closer together and has allowed us to spend more time together during the day.

We noticed a huge market being tapped that consisted of shirts with playful sayings and decided the art wasn't exciting enough for us to buy any of the shirts. That spark our motivaation and we started creating shirts that incorporated custom typography and vintage halftone design. We are excited to see what the future holds for the brand.

Inspiration
If it doesn't work in black and white

Each design encompasses a style of vintage rock posters and playful grunge. The brand look was developed to be unisex as most shirts in this genre sway towards a female market. Since we spend so much time developing apparel for other companies we wanted this brand to reflect our passion and style while allowing Jason to actually wear some of the shirts he is designing.

Black and white degin is a huge passion for us. Lucky Penny continues to be an experiment of how far we can push ourselves to design in one color. If your design doesnt work in black and white, then it doesn't work. Lucky Penny is a testament to that mindset.

Each point of engagement has been thought about. Packaging, tags, labels and personalized notes thanking buyers for their purchase.
